Soren Kierkegaard (1813-1855) was a Danish philosopher who is generally considered the first existentialist philosopher. This puts an emphasis on the feeling, acting human being versus the thinking machine of the previous generations philosophers. His work focuses largely on Christian ethics - especially Christian love - and the emotions and feelings of the human being facing life choices.
