Who You Don’t Want to Be - Day 232 of 365 Days to a Better You
Best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert wrote, "You take whatever works from wherever you can find it, and you keep moving toward the light."It would be fantastic if the wind pushing the ship of your dreams was always a positive, encouraging wind. You would be perpetually propelled forward by a vision of who you want to be. And, on the whole, you should seek that energy as often as possible. There are periods, though, when it's tough to summon the sunshine. On those days when the top of your mountain is socked in and it's hard to imagine your best self, consider Gilbert's words. Take "whatever works from wherever you can find it."If you aren't able to take a positive step toward who you want to be, at least take a step away from who you don't want to be anymore. If that's the best energy you can generate today, then let it propel you until you can bring better energy to the struggle. In short, use propulsion to push you forward whenever you can. But, don't dismiss the power of repulsion as a back up power source. Keep the ship moving, no matter the mental weather.Keep digging, my friends. Your dreams are one day closer than ever before!Ray
