The Power of What If - Day 101 of 365 Days to a Better You

What If...

If there are two words in our language more imbued with power and potential, I don't know what they are. These two words open worlds. These words demand no belief. They defy every dogma and every attempt limit their scope. In two words, this phrase disengages the critical mind and engages the imagination. No less than Albert Einstein stated firmly, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”Once that happens, a million impossibilities become real, they become present, and they become possible.Power hack: Arm yourself with What If and use it regularly. When you feel cornered or limited or stuck simply say, "What if..." and follow your thought flow from there. With What If, you are invincible. What if is where the unseen goes to be seen. It's where the impossible crosses over into the possible. It's where the unexpected can and does regularly happen. As Buckminster Fuller said, "There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly."What is possible for you? I'll close today with one of my all-time favorite poems. It's aptly titled, "What If You Slept" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. What if you sleptAnd what ifIn your sleepYou dreamedAnd what ifIn your dreamYou went to heavenAnd there plucked a strange and beautiful flowerAnd what ifWhen you awokeYou had that flower in your handAh, what then? What then indeed!Have a fantastic day!RayP.S. It is Day 4 of 10 on my soda detox. Not one drop of my beloved Dr. Pepper (or any other soda) has crossed my lips since Sunday. I am craving it, but I'm enjoying drinking more water too. Have you joined me? I'd love to hear what you gave up and your journey.
