TAS Quote of the Day - June 22, 2020 (FDR Quote)
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) was the 32nd President of the United States from 1933 to 1945. He is the only American president to serve more than two terms. He was elected to his fourth term in November 1944, but died a few months into that term.
Viewed by many as a champion of the people, Roosevelt led the nation through much of the Great Depression and most of World War II. He implemented many policies that remain in place today and took innovative steps to stem unemployment and poverty during the 1930s.
His adversaries called him “a traitor to his class” and have long claimed he overreached his power in unconstitutional ways.
Regardless of your view Roosevelt, he is undeniably one of the best known and important presidents in the nation’s history.
He was known for calming the nation with his “fireside chats” and the famous words from his first inaugural, “Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.
