I’m Getting Old Affirmation

At 57, there are definitely moments and situations where I definitely don’t feel 25 anymore.

My wife and I have caught ourselves repeating the negative affirmation to each other, “I’m getting old.” We’ve pinky sworn we’re not going to let each other use that affirmation anymore.

Yes! We are all constantly using affirmations, consciously and unconsciously. Our minds are born affirmation machines. Some are positive and some are negative. This is definitely a negative one I don’t want to buy into.

Anything that starts with IAM/AM NOT or I CAN/CANNOT or I WILL/WON’T is an affirmation. One that we think or say all the time becomes habitual thinking that begins impact our outcomes in life.

These are all habitual affirmations that can quickly become self-fulfilling prophecies.

  • I am too old.
  • I am too young.
  • I am not smart enough.
  • I am always sick.
  • I can’t do that.
  • I will never make money. I will always be poor.
  • I am born to fail.

These are the kinds of negative affirmations our minds or other people plant in our thinking. They can become our way of being, if w3 allow it.

Positive affirmations are a way to consciously replace these unconscious negative affirmations.

So, I am proactively adding this affirmation to my daily affirmations.

I REFUSE TO ALLOW AN OLD PERSON TO MOVE INTO MY BODY OR MY MIND.

Choose the thoughts you think and believe carefully. They will soon become you.

Wherever you are on your journey today, remember you are awesome!
