"The most important decision we make," declared Albert Einstein, "is whether we believe we live in a friendly or a hostile universe." Einstein was really on to something here. From that decision, you decide how you respond to the world. You decide how you interpret the events that come into your life.Is your life filled with friendly events and people that, while sometimes challenging, create an opportunity for growth or are events and people hostile? Do you live in a world of plenty for all or a world of scarcity and lack? Many people think of love and hate as opposites. In reality, fear is the opposite of love. Fear is born out of seeing the world as predominantly hostile and people as predominantly bad. Love thrives when we see the universe as a friendly place.Think about that for a moment. How much of the information that circulates in our collective consciousness today is based on fear? Those seeds of fear have convinced many that the world is a hostile, dangerous place rather than a place of possibility and opportunity. The good news is that you are ultimately the masters of your own thoughts. You can decide to see the world as a shadowy place always ready to spring a threat upon you; always ready to rob you of what you have. You can see other people as evil and eager to pillage you if you don't pillage them first.Or, you can also decide to stand tall and allow sunshine to fill your mind and your heart and see the world with new eyes. You can choose to burst the bubble of fear and dwell in a realm of love.No doubt, the choice to dwell in that world has its difficulties. We still have to deal with the actions of people who continue to be trapped by their fears. Those actions can sometimes be destructive.Nonetheless, if you reject the possibility of your own transformation and fail to start down the path to that possible world, how can you ever expect them to do so?Don't kid yourself into thinking that seeing the world as friendly and loving is an easy task. Some people will read this article and think, "That would be nice, but it's not realistic." They might chide you for trying to live in love rather than fear.I have a simple question for those people. We have tried the fear approach for thousands of years. Where has it gotten us? Even if you cannot be love-centered 100% of the time it's still a worthwhile goal, isn't it?There are always going to be examples that can drag you back into the the fear mindset, if you let them. Over time, though, it is possible to progress away from fear towards love. The question is will you boldly take the first step and lay down your fears in the hope of a better world? As Einstein said, the choice is yours.Stay true to you!Follow your bliss. Experience your bliss.
